Coverage Atlas

Methodology & sources

Source

Plan attributes (counts, metal tiers, plan types, issuers) come from the CMS ACA Plan Attributes Public Use File (2026 plan year, source id src:cms:aca-plan-attributes-puf:2026). Sticker (pre-subsidy) premiums come from the separate CMS Marketplace Rate PUF (source id src:cms:aca-rate-puf:2026). Both are published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Grain & segmentation

The file has one row per plan variant. We segment it into medical qualified health plans (metal tiers Silver, Gold, Bronze, Expanded Bronze, Platinum, Catastrophic) and standalone dental plans (SADPs, the Low/High tiers), and we never blend them into a single "plan count". Plan counts are variant counts.

What is not in the data

What this is not

Coverage Atlas is a reference catalog. It informs and compares which plans exist and routes you to HealthCare.gov to act. It does not sell plans, rank plans, recommend a "best plan", or give medical, financial, or insurance advice.

Current coverage: 20,670 medical + 1,389 dental plans across 30 states. Data exported June 24, 2026.
